Minsu Yoo

Graduate Student

Minsu Yoo is a PhD graduate student in the Committee on Computational Neuroscience.  His research investigates how visual sensory information is transferred through neurological pathways, specifically the direct cortico-cortical pathways between higher and lower cortical areas of the visual systems of mice.  How do direct feed-forward and feedback pathways affect the neural activities in lower and higher cortical areas?  In examining this question, he uses viral and chemogenetic techniques, while observing neuronal modulations using in vivo extracellular recording or two photon calcium imaging.

When Minsu is not in the lab, he enjoys mostly outdoor activities, such as playing soccer, of which he is a long-time player and fan.  He continues to improve his game.
